Get to know Belgrade
Take a ride through the part of Belgrade that you normally don’t get to see: Novi Beograd or New Belgrade. Built during the communist times, this might not be the prettiest part of Belgrade, but it does tell the story of Belgrade from when it became the capital of Yugoslavia after the Second World War. You will visit a former concentration camp which is now used for living and working, as well as the government building of Yugoslavia.
You will hear the idea behind building New Belgrade and its brutalist architecture and just as you have had enough concrete, you’ll enter the pretty fishermen’s town of Zemun, once the entrance point to the Austrian Hungarian Empire. Now it’s an excellent place to enjoy a drink and feel far away from busy Belgrade. On the way back you’ll stop for the best view from across the river on the beautiful Kalemegdan Fortress.
